EUROPARLIAMENT WANTS AGGREGATORS TO PAY FOR THEIR CONTENT

Europarliament has passed sweeping new legislation that could change the way big tech uses and shares content. The rules — approved by the Europarliament yesterday — could see sites like YouTube made responsible for copyright infringements committed by their users. It could also see news aggregation platforms forced to pay publishers for using their content. Tech companies have long argued that it would amount to censorship.
